Take a look and see what a Green Home could look like. This is a four bedroom energy efficient home with an abundance of features to ensure the owner saves money on energy and water usage all year round.
The Green Homes Australia Charity House Project (CHAP House) was built by David Hawkins from Green Homes Australia Albury Wodonga in 2016 for the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre Trust Fund.
The four bedroom energy efficient home raised $68,000 via the sale of the home prior to going to auction.
The aim was to construct a four bedroom energy efficient home to sell at auction with all profits being donated to the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre. All skills in carpentry and construction were donated to contribute to the project.
There was also immense support from the community and 42 local businesses assisted by donation construction supplies and services to ensure the home raised as much money as possible.
The CHAP House featured in the 3D Walk-through is a custom designed, 172 square metre home and features double-glazed windows with aluminium frames, and has ideal north orientation to capture the winter sun and keep out the heat of summer. It also has a solar-boosted hot water system, energy-efficient light fittings and appliances, and a specially designed roof catchment feeding into a 5000L rainwater tank. With an abundance of energy and water saving features, the owner is going to love living in this home, and you could too! This is just a taste of what a Green Home can look like!
