National Finalist - HOME OF THE YEAR and BUILDER OF THE YEAR

Mick Fabar, Principal of Green Homes Australia was honored to be named a finalist in the two major categories of the National HIA GreenSmart Awards announced at Parliament House this month - receiving special commendation from the Judges. 

One of his 'green' homes was named as a finalist in the HOME OF THE YEAR category whilst Mick was also named one of three finalist in BUILDER OF THE YEAR category. 

The HIA National GreenSmart Awards showcase the benchmark residential developments in sustainable home design and construction throughout the country.  [May 09]


WINNER - 2008 NSW HIA AWARD

Green Homes Australia took top honours by winning the most water efficient home at HIA CSR NSW Housing Awards in Sydney for 2008 - confirming their ability to design and build award winning sustainable homes.

GHA's sustainable homes have been selected as a finalist in both the HIA NSW Housing Awards, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Outstanding Business Awards.


Green Homes Partners with Fletcher Insulation

Fletcher Insulation, the largest manufacturer of insulation products in Australia has teamed up with GHA to launch a unique Partnership Program for builders - a program that allows all builders to offer sustainable home design and constructions for their clients by working in partnership with GHA.

This partnership follows Fletcher's recent announcement of becoming the first insulation manufacturer in Australia to achieve the Good Environmental Choice Ecolabel Certification along with CodeMark and Globalmark certification for their Pink Batts and Fat Batts range of residential insulation. 

GHA is very excited about this partnership as it is the first time Fletchers has partnered in such an arrangement with a private construction company.  25 Aug 2008


Regional Sustainable Garden Award

A Green Homes Australia home was awarded in Keep Australia Beautiful's Sustainable Garden Challenge.  Gardening guru Don Burke congratulated Mick Fabar for his exceptional entry.  "It is great to see such a sustainable garden encompassing water conservation, biodiversity and community education" Don said.

Envir Expo Orange 17-18 Oct 2008

Green Homes Australia are exhibiting at Rotary's first Envir Expo in Orange and encourage other companies with green products to contact us for information to become an exhibitor.  The ad campaign will target the 262,000 residents of the region.   


First GreenSmart Homes in Central West NSW

The first two GreenSmart Display Homes constructed in regional NSW were officially opened by Mr Brian Scarsbrick, CEO of Landcare Australia.  They showcase the latest in sustainable home design and construction practices and present as beautiful executive style homes with many of the 'green' features not immediately apparent.  They are located in Diamond Drive, Orange and remain open for inspection on Saturdays or by appointment 1300 724 661.
